First off, you can “comp” people that have existing subscriptions. This allows you to start tracking everything through Spreedly right away.
The url for an existing subscriber is something like this:
https://spreedly.com/meresheep/subscribers/23514
or… if you’re using screen names, it could be something like this:
https://spreedly.com/meresheep/subscribers/23514/freddy
What if there’s no subscriber with an ID of 23514? In that case, Spreedly will explain that there’s no subscriber with that ID and it’ll ask you if you’d like to create a subscriber. This creates an empty subscriber. Once the subscriber is created, comp’ing that subscriber is a simple as clicking a link and specifying how long you’d like to comp them for.
Many websites have some kind of administration area where they can look at their existing subscribers. Showing a url on that page to display the subscriber in Spreedly could be quite helpful.
If you have a ton of existing subscribers and you’d rather not go through this process for each of them, you can use our API to create subscribers and comp them.
