Our Leadership

Justin Benson

Justin joined Spreedly as CEO in 2011. He has driven Spreedly’s dramatic expansion through a successful pivot and evolution of the company’s go-to-market strategy. He led the company's fundraising of $75 million from Spectrum Ventures to accelerate Spreedly's growth strategy. He combines a technical background with expertise in sales and customer experience.
Justin began his career in the Bay Area and joined an early stage startup as their first technical support employee. During his tenure, the company grew from 40 to 400 in three years, went public, and was acquired. He was steadily promoted through business development, direct sales, and then onto the senior management team before a successful exit. He subsequently joined SafeNet as VP of Sales for the Americas prior to moving to NC. He lives in the Triangle with his wife and two daughters and can be frequently seen speeding down roads and trails on his bike.

Rohan Bairat

In his role, as SVP of Sales, Rohan is responsible for leading the direct and indirect sales team, driving channel and partner strategy, and managing customer success and delivery teams. Prior to Spreedly, Rohan served as vice president of sales at PROS driving digital commerce and pricing transformation initiatives that helped companies create personalized and frictionless buying experiences for their customers. He created and executed industry strategy and drove business development for key industries, including oil and gas, chemicals, retail, telecommunications, and distribution. Rohan also led PROS Americas customer success and Services team, where he delivered many successful global pricing implementations with exceptional results.
Rohan holds a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the Rice University - Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management and has been an Adjunct Professor at Rice University, teaching pricing for second-year MBA students for 11 years and a Master's Degree in Computer Science (MS) from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

Dana Calder

In her role as Vice President of Human Resources, Dana is responsible for leading all HR functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, performance coaching, compliance, employee engagement, policy implementation, and training and development.
Dana's tenure at Spreedly has included work as an account manager on the new customer acquisition team and the customer success team where she was responsible for engagement with customers through trials, testing, and onboarding. Prior to Spreedly, Dana found her passion for the Triangle’s technical community after joining The Iron Yard Durham, an immersive computer programming boot camp. As Director, she supported over 150 developers with career support to acquire local tech jobs by building a robust Triangle-focused employer advisory board. Dana has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Salem College, NC.

Randy Guard

As the Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Randy is responsible for Spreedly’s product direction and global marketing strategy. In this role, he is focused on building and expanding the brand, leading the growth marketing efforts, driving product innovation in the Spreedly portfolio, and advancing the user experience.
Randy is an enterprise SaaS veteran with over three decades leading teams in marketing, product and development. Prior to joining Spreedly, Randy was Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for SAS, a global provider of analytics and artificial intelligence. Randy also served as Chairman of the Advisory Board for IDeaS, a SAS Company. He began his career with Accenture after graduating from Duke University with a degree in Electrical Engineering

Christopher Hudel

Christopher serves as Spreedly’s Chief Technology Officer with responsibilities for architecture, application engineering, infrastructure, and information security. His primary focus in this role is ensuring that Spreedly’s applications and systems remain secure, stable and scale up (both in capacity and capability) as customer demand grows and new products are introduced.
Christopher’s 30 year career spans a range of industries: professional consulting, global industrial manufacturing, financial services, and “dot-com” enterprises. In addition to holding executive roles at several organizations, he also developed and delivered undergraduate and graduate courses within the University of North Carolina system as an adjunct professor. Christopher earned his honours Bachelor's degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

Nellie Vail

Serving as Chief Financial Officer, Nellie’s role is to implement the overall financial strategy and determine the financial health of the business. This requires execution of the operating plan and making certain that strategic and tactical decisions are data driven. Nellie is responsible for accounting, finance, legal and business operations, which encompasses financial reporting and audit, revenue, cost and cash forecasting, corporate legal compliance, as well as company capitalization strategy to ensure funding for Spreedly’s growth.
Nellie started her career in investment banking and quickly moved into the technology sector. She supported several SaaS businesses as head of finance in various industries including sports television, banking software, and sales enablement before joining payments at Spreedly in 2017. Nellie has more than 15 years of experience as a finance professional, with 10+ in the SaaS world. When not at Spreedly, Nellie assists her partner with the business side of their Durham-based bar (Annexe), while making sure she has the time to travel, keep up with the latest design and fashion trends and spend time with family.

Swarup Bandyopadhyay

As the Director of Engineering, Swarup helps guide the Engineering organization as it builds new features and functionality, scales those features for future growth, and manages the overall maintenance of those features. He also leads the customer experience and marketplace services business units.
Swarup has been in the software industry for over 20 years and has worked in a variety of domains such as travel, adtech, retail / POS, telecom and fintech. Prior to joining Spreedly, Swarup held management positions at Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Switchfly and Hotwire. He started his career as a Software Developer with Telcordia Technologies after graduating from Lehigh University with a degree in Computer Science. When not helping the team at Spreedly, Swarup enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, exploring new restaurants along with leveling up with a new video game.

Eliot Cohen

As the Director of IT, Eliot is responsible for providing high quality, technology-related services to facilitate a user-friendly, ethical, efficient, and scalable environment for the Spreedly team. IT at Spreedly is a close-knit team of empowered individuals who collaboratively work to keep the day-to-day operations of the company functional and efficient. This includes several core management programs such as employee lifecycle (onboarding and offboarding), access, ticketing, and hardware.
Eliot has spent the last ten years working in IT, security and operations at companies (both start-ups and non-profits) of various sizes. Before transitioning to work in tech, Eliot cut his teeth in wildlife conservation in Brazil, focused on the creation of connectivity corridors for fragmented jaguar populations. When not loudly zooming with Spreedlings, Eliot enjoys cooking, his dogs, and getting lost in the nearby wilderness. Eliot has a BA in Evolutionary Anthropology from Duke University.

Justin Dunn

As the HR Director, Justin is responsible for a variety of employee lifecycle processes including performance management, engagement, employee relations, and benefits. HR is focused on building out processes to prepare Spreedly for tremendous growth over the next few years, while ensuring our most important assets (our people) have a great experience as well.
Justin has over 12 years of experience in HR within SaaS, manufacturing, healthcare, and education industries. Justin Has a BS in Human Resources Management from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. In his spare time Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and friends, cooking, bourbon hunting, exercising, and fantasy football.

Luke Evans

As the Director of Customer Success, Luke is responsible for Spreedly’s overall vision and plan for the Success organization. In this role he is responsible for leading a positive customer experience, product adoption, and increasing lifetime value by driving growth in renewals and net retention improvements. Luke has over 20 years of experience in technology sales, marketing and product roles. Prior to Spreedly, Luke served as Director of Business Development at DelfMEMS promoting their efforts in the US market. Before that he held various roles at RF Micro Devices (now Qorvo) helping to lead innovation in wireless power amplifier ICs. He has earned an MBA from Wake Forest University and a degree in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Milay Gonzalez

As the Director, Support Engineering, Milay is responsible for Spreedly’s global technical support operations. In this role, she is focused on consistently delivering a world-class support experience for Spreedly customers, protecting their investment, and ensuring assistance is provided at the right time and through the right channels by technical experts who can quickly understand customer needs and guide them towards the best solutions. Milay has almost three decades of experience in the software and technology space, focused in building and leading high performing organizations and strengthening customer satisfaction, success and P&L.
Prior to joining Spreedly, Milay led Enterprise Technical Support operations for BlackBerry’s global MDM and cyber security customers, including top US government agencies. She also worked at AT&T Bell Labs, Motorola, Inc., and Pacific Scientific (Danaher). Milay graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami with an MBA in International Business. She also graduated magna cum laude from Florida International University with a BS in Electrical Engineering, including dual specializations in Automatic Control Systems and Applied Biomedical DSP.

Lorra “LoGo” Gosselin

Responsibilities as the Director of Marketing include supporting the organization’s go-to-market strategy, thought leadership development, lead generation, content marketing, as well as partnership and sales funnel enablement. She helps serve as a voice of the customer and other constituents throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Lorra brings to the organization 20 years of experience with commercialization of B2B and B2C programs, business development, market education and development, initiative activation, and sales / marketing enablement and training. She has a BS in Information Design and Corporate Communications from Bentley University. Outside of the office, Lorra’s free time is typically spent traveling and crafting.

Suresh Iyer

As the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, Suresh is responsible for key financial processes, including forecasting, budget planning, performance reporting and supporting long-range planning and strategic decision-making. In this role, his primary focus is ensuring that finance is an engaged strategic business partner providing insights and enabling leadership in formulating and executing business strategies.
Suresh has over 20+ years of industry experience in the areas of finance, strategy, and program management. Prior to Spreedly, Suresh worked at Red Hat leading transformation initiatives. He also has extensive experience working in corporate strategy at AICPA (a leading membership-based organization representing the accounting industry) where he developed corporate and business unit strategies to drive growth and expansion. He also served as a consultant at Accenture’s management consulting unit where he worked on finance and strategy projects across multiple industries. Suresh holds a MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Electrical Engineering from SUNY-Buffalo. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Suresh’s hobbies include spending time with family, volunteering and working on numerous home/yard projects.

Michael Johnston

As the Director of Business Analytics, Michael is responsible for Spreedly's internal business analytics and business intelligence function. In this role, he is focused on driving actions through insights, democratizing access to data and insights through self-service BI, enabling and fostering company wide experimentation, and supporting strategy and planning.
Michael Johnston spent the last seven years in financial planning and analysis as well as operations at several high-growth SAAS start-ups. Prior to joining Spreedly, Michael was the director of financial planning and analysis for Netsertive, a company that offers localized digital marketing through a SaaS platform. Michael was also the director of finance and operations at Devada, a developer community and content management saas provider. Michael graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in mathematics as well as a Masters in education. In his spare time Michael loves spending time with his wife and twin daughters, and being outdoors.

Jared Knipp

As a Director of Engineering, Jared is responsible for leading product engineering teams that focus on unlocking core technical capabilities on the Spreedly platform. He oversees teams that are developing new features, surfacing data insights, and maintaining Spreedly's secure payment method vault.
Jared has been building software for over 20 years, with a primary concentration in fintech. He has spent the last 15+ years crafting software and leading teams working on banking, card issuance, and payments processing systems at startups. Prior to joining Spreedly, Jared led the software development team at Financial Payments, creating B2B payments solutions. He was also a software engineer at a company acquired by First Data, in the retail ATM/Debit card solutions space. Jared started his career as a software engineer and has worked in multiple levels of the software development stack with stints in quality assurance automation, product engineering, and technical leadership. Jared graduated from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and an MBA, with emphasis in Management Information Systems. In his spare time, Jared enjoys spending time with his family, BBQ'ing, and traveling.

Andy McHale

As a Senior Director of Product Management, Andy is responsible for driving the development of emerging product offerings in Spreedly’s portfolio to help solve problems for our customers in addition to the core Payment Orchestration offering.
Andy has been working in payments and risk for 20 years and has worked in various parts of the market on both the service provider and merchant sides. He spent a long tenure at PayPal and eBay working on various aspects of consumer and merchant payment solutions and fraud prevention. Before joining Spreedly, Andy worked at RetailMeNot managing product and fraud prevention for gift card sales and cash back programs. In his early career, Andy Worked with a small credit card issuing bank working on fraud and chargebacks while earning a degree in Mechanized Systems Management from the University of Nebraska.

Peter Mollins

In his role as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Peter serves a team of world-class marketing professionals. The marketing organization's role is to extend our industry leadership, accelerate the buyer journey, and amplify our customers' voices.
Peter brings extensive experience leading marketing at B2B SaaS companies in Europe and North America. Beginning his career with Netscape, he has driven market visibility and sales growth for multiple commerce and revenue enablement companies that have successfully exited in Paris, San Francisco, and Raleigh. His primary focus is on building and serving world-class marketing and go-to-market organizations that multiply the reach of the business. He holds a masters in international management from Thunderbird.

Jennifer Rosario

As the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Spreedly, Jennifer is responsible for leading and driving Spreedly’s information security, compliance, and information technology strategy. In this role, she is focused on the CIA (confidentiality, integrity, and availability) of customer, employee, and Spreedly proprietary data.
Jennifer has over 20 years of experience in IT operations, IT service management, and information security (IS). She has a proven background in delivering expert-level cyber security guidance, developing, implementing and maturing IS programs. Her passion comes from bringing people, process and technology together to deliver value to the business. Jennifer’s certifications include CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control), and ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Foundation. Jennifer graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a BS degree in Information Science. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and running/walking.

Bill Ryan

As the Vice President of Global Sales, Bill is responsible for global sales strategy and execution. In this role, Bill leads the enterprise sales, partnerships, and solution consulting organizations. He also focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences and ROI.
Bill is an enterprise SaaS veteran with nearly 20 years of experience leading sales groups at both start-ups and public companies including SAP and Salesforce. He also serves as a board advisor at Lessonface, an online music learning platform that virtually connects teachers and students. Bill is a graduate of the College of Charleston and has been involved in Big Brother Big Sister.

Daniel Scagnelli

As the Vice President of Services and Success, Daniel is responsible for Spreedly’s post-sale customer lifecycle functions including implementation, customer success, professional services, customer engineering, and support engineering. In this role, he is focused on building the vision and strategy for scaling delivery and ensuring world class service that accelerates customer time to value, speeds and scales the adoption and use of Spreedly, and serves to delight Spreedly customers along the way.
Daniel has over 10 years of leadership experience, building and scaling services and success organizations across multiple industry domains spanning local government, healthcare, and insurtech. Prior to Spreedly, Daniel was VP of service delivery and success for Sureify, a leading insurtech SaaS provider catering to the needs of blue-chip life carriers in the US. He also served as director of services and success for Validic, an enterprise healthcare market leader for secure, scalable, agnostic access to healthcare device data and remote patient monitoring solutions. Daniel has a degree in Business Administration from Elon University and a Masters from Appalachian State University.

Brianne Villano

As Senior Director of Business Operations, Brianne works in close partnership with Spreedly’s Finance, IT, Info Security and Compliance teams. She is responsible for procurement and management of software services, creating and standardizing company-wide projects and programs serving as the head of the project management office, as well as verifying that Spreedly meets and maintains the requirements for cyber and other types of business and liability insurance.
Brianne has over ten years of experience in customer support, customer success, account management, and business operations in the SaaS industry. Prior to Spreedly, Brianne was a molecular biologist and research professional. Her passion for data and experimentation comes from her Masters degree in Biotechnology and helps support her work in software. In her free time, Brianne supports several animal welfare initiatives and enjoys being on the open road in her camper.

Andy Wilcox

As the Senior Director of Revenue Operations, Andy is responsible for ensuring enablement and operations excellence across Spreedly's go-to-market team. In this role, he is focused on leveraging technology to optimize sales and forecasting processes, create amazing onboarding, training, and coaching programs, and empower global teams to exceed Spreedly's revenue and business goals as efficiently as possible.
Andy has nearly 30 years of experience in global finance, consulting, software development, and systems implementations across a wide variety of industries. Prior to joining Spreedly, Andy served in executive roles across multiple ecommerce and manufacturing startups in the Triangle area, and remains active in the regional angel investment community. A graduate of Ohio University, he went on to get his MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Outside of work, Andy enjoys seeing his sons discover their passions at college, while he and his wife head out on new travel and dining adventures.
