DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 20, 2026 — Spreedly, a payments vault and orchestration platform, today announced the appointment of Darren Bounds as Chief Financial Officer. Bounds brings more than 15 years of financial leadership and investment banking experience as Spreedly accelerates its global growth, expands its work with leading enterprises, and positions itself at the forefront of agentic commerce.
"Darren knows what it takes to scale a technology business with discipline and ambition," said Justin Benson, CEO of Spreedly. "We're building the payments infrastructure that leading enterprises need to grow globally and adapt as AI reshapes commerce. Darren brings the financial and operational experience to help us turn that opportunity into sustained, profitable growth."
Before joining Team Cymru, Bounds spent a decade in investment banking at Credit Suisse, Houlihan Lokey and Baird, advising executives, boards and investors on more than $15 billion in transactions.
"Spreedly is a market leader in payments orchestration and has spent nearly two decades earning the trust of global brands with their most sensitive payment data," said Bounds. "That track record is what drew me to the company. Few businesses are better positioned for what comes next. As AI agents begin transacting on behalf of businesses and consumers, I'm excited to work with Justin and the team to build on that foundation and help our customers grow."
Bounds is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a former Navy SEAL officer. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Bounds succeeds Nellie Vail, who is working with him to support a smooth transition.
"I also want to thank Nellie Vail for her tremendous contribution to Spreedly," said Benson. "She's been an invaluable partner as we've grown the company, helping us navigate fundraising, build a strong team and establish the financial foundation we rely on today. We're deeply grateful for her leadership and the lasting impact she's had on the business."
