Dynamic routing is the practice of automatically directing each payment transaction to the most appropriate gateway or processor at the moment of processing, based on real-time performance data, configurable business rules, and transaction attributes. Rather than sending all transactions to a single, fixed destination, dynamic routing evaluates available providers continuously and selects the one most likely to produce the best outcome for each individual transaction.
